Call for papers on research and development related to COVID-19

TecnoLógicas is a Colombian double-blind peer-reviewed journal. It publishes articles in a wide range of subfields of the engineering and technology sciences and is indexed by SciELO Citation Index® (Thomson Reuters Web of Science), Publindex, SciELO Colombia, Fuente Académica Premier™ (EBSCO), Index Copernicus, Redalyc, Dialnet, REDIB, Inspec, Periódica, DOAJ, DRJI, Latindex, PKP Index, and the Digital Library by OEI.

TecnoLógicas was created to promote knowledge dissemination that leads to improvements in education and professional practices in the fields of engineering and applied technology. Our double-blind peer review system is highly rigorous and allows us to select original and relevant contributions in all the areas of engineering.

In the midst of the current health crisis derived from the COVID-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, TecnoLógicas wishes to support the dissemination of research and development of technologies that offer solutions to mitigate or combat the effects of such pandemic in Latin America. We are aware of current efforts and initiatives to strengthen our health systems and the response capacity of the country supported by developments in equipment or devices, technological platforms, and scientific studies, among others. For this reason, the Editorial Board of TecnoLógicas opens a permanent call until August 31st to researchers  and technology developers to submit two types of manuscripts:

Short articles: They describe, in a concise way, partial or preliminary results of scientific or technological studies that require swift publishing due to their relevance for the scientific or academic community.

Technical notes: They report methods, techniques, procedures, or technologies that contribute to solve problems of general interest and can be applied by the academic community or the productive or service sector. The technologies they describe may be new or already known, but adapted to address particular problems.

These two types of submissions on COVID-19 will be prioritized and published Online First in order for the entire scientific community to benefit from the results of this research and development work as soon as possible.

Interested authors should prepare their manuscripts following the instructions in the template for each type of paper (attached). Afterward, they should sign up and submit their manuscripts (in English or Spanish) at

We hope you can support this initiative with your original contributions.
