Ethics statement and good practices

The trilogía Ciencia Tecnología Sociedad Journal is committed to maintaining a high academic level through a rigorous peer review, along with strict ethical policies. Any violation of professional ethical codes, such as plagiarism, fraudulent use of data, false statements of authorship, will be taken very seriously by the editors.

trilogía Ciencia Tecnología Sociedad adopts the guidelines of the Code of Conduct of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and follows the flowcharts of the COPE to resolve cases of suspected bad practices. Authors who wish to publish in the journal must meet the criteria of the international standard for authors.

Among the practices not accepted by the journal, are the plagiarism in all its forms, the autoplaggio, multiple or redundant publication, as well as the invention or manipulation of data. All these constitute serious breaches of ethics and are considered scientific frauds. However, it is permissible to publish a work that extends another already appeared as a brief note, communication or summary, provided that the text on which it is based is suitably cited and that the modifications suppose a substantial contribution of what has already been published.

When a type of non-accepted action is detected, the author will be informed, with the respective sources, and their comments will be requested before defining what is a plagiarism behavior and, consequently, not editable. In case of conflict, the journal will ask the author for explanations and relevant evidence to clarify it, and will make a final decision based on these.

In the event that the article is published and the decision is made to disavow its publication, the journal will notify about said disavowal and in it the reasons for such measure will be mentioned, in order to distinguish the bad practice from the involuntary error.

The journal will also notify the author responsible for the institution of the author or authors of the article. The decision to disavow a text will be adopted as soon as possible, so that said erroneous work is not cited in its field of investigation. The unauthorized articles will be kept in the electronic edition of the magazines, warning clearly and unequivocally that it is an unauthorized article, to distinguish it from other corrections or comments.

The trilogía Ciencia Tecnología Sociedad journal has a special software, in order to detect plagiarism, the specifications of this will be given to those who request it.

Likewise, the journal is committed to carry out a transparent editorial process, in equal conditions, without privileging any author because of their institutional affiliation or academic trajectory, so the publication of the articles will depend solely on their quality academic

The journal also undertakes to maintain an open and clear communication with the authors and with the evaluators during the editorial process, in order to guarantee the quality of the works. Being a cooperative process, the editorial team will always be attentive to answering questions, comments and suggestions.
