Can Data Science Help Fight Corruption in Public Procurement?
Abstract
The technologies associated with the fourth industrial revolution have recently seized the attention of various sectors of the economy, scholars, organizations, and the society in general. Exploring these new technological tools has made it possible to use them for countless applications, from medical diagnosis prediction to urban public transport control. Based on the main concepts associated with the fourth industrial revolution (from big data to artificial intelligence), this editorial seeks to analyze how data science, by means of data management and its existing methodologies, can contribute to solving problems that have strongly impacted public opinion, as is the case of corruption in public procurement.
