On Interdisciplinary Work
Abstract
The results of interdisciplinary work are part of our daily lives. Discoveries such as the structure of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), magnetic resonance imaging, the atomic bomb, lasers for eye surgery, the “green revolution,” the radar, and the human genome, among many other examples, are the products of this type of alliances. If we also consider discoveries that are at the laboratory stage or about to produce results (with some inaccuracies), we can say that the greatest progress is achieved when we decide to approach a problem from another perspective, from the point of view of other disciplines.
