El otro lado de la técnica: diferencias y similitudes entre técnica animal y técnica humana

Resumen

La técnica animal ha ocupado un lugar marginal en las reflexiones de la técnica. En la literatura filosófica de la técnica no existe una definición estricta de la técnica animal, sin embargo, ésta es importante para el entendimiento de los límites de nuestra propia técnica. Este trabajo sostiene que es posible establecer una definición sólida de técnica animal partiendo de dos definiciones de técnica humana (noción protésica de técnica y cultura material) y una dimensión particular de las herramientas humanas (herramientas cognitivas). Este trabajo toma una posición naturalista que permite revisar diversos estudios de caso centrados en la capacidad de los animales de fabricar y usar herramientas.
